According to the medical profession, today is my first birthday! One year ago I received 5 million stem cells and my body was 'reborn'.

I received the best birthday present ever on Wednesday at MD Anderson--my scan results were stable! The tumors have not grown and the cancer has not spread. Also, my CTC (circulating tumor cell) test was zero. Although I am not in remission or NED (no evidence of disease), I certainly am celebrating and extremely, extremely thankful.

Seeing that this was the one year mark of my stem cell transplant and I am still healthy; I feel that the trial has been a complete success. No matter what lies ahead, I am here today and will see the two year anniversary of my metastasis diagnosis on Dec. 11,which many unfortunately, do not. And the only reason any of this is possible is because of all of you! You have literally saved my life!Not a day goes by that I don't realize that. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for that. And you can be sure that next Thursday will be more meaningful to me than ever!
