Jimmy Burns!

Today was the 6th annual Jim Burns Tailgate party. What a beautiful day to be outside with friends remembering Jim. As you well know, the Jim Burns Foundation holds a special place in my heart for their generosity in providing me with a home in Texas for three months. Jim's family and Dawn are extraordinary people. People I am so blessed to know. The best part of the day was singing happy birthday to Jim and Dawn's son--happy 9th birthday Jimmy!

As I was leaving the party thinking about the U2 concert I am going to tonight, I realized that it was 22 years ago that I last saw U2. I was a junior in high school and had four tickets. One of my friends had to back out, so I asked another friend if he wanted to invite someone. He brought Jim Burns. That night was the first time I met Jim. Who would have thought that two out of four high school friends would end up having stem cell transplants at MD Anderson in Texas? Little did I know then what an amazing impact Jim Burns' life would have on me. Little did I know what an amazing impact Jim Burns had on all people he encountered. I hope he witnessed today all the hearts he has touched.

Thank you Jim.

Thank you JBF.
