Six years ago today many of us wept as we learned Jim Burns had lost his battle with cancer at the age of 33. Please pray that he sends peace to his amazing wife Dawn and their adorable children Jimmy and Lexi. Also to his kind family and many friends.

Idid not know Jim well, but his legacy certainly has made a huge impact on my life. Because of the person he was and the friendships he made;because of his choice to marry Dawn; because he chose MD Anderson to have his stem cell transplant;because those who loved him wanted to honor him in a special way by starting a foundation in his name; my life benefited while I had my stem cell transplant. Because of Jim Burns, many lives benefited while they had stem cell transplants.

At the end of the day,don't we all just want to make a mark on this world? To make a difference? Jim certainly did in mine. Thank you Jim. Rest in peace.
