Greetings from Florida
Hi
I am currently in Naples, Florida. I arrived on Wednesday and was completely worn out from traveling, so I took a nap. It ended up being a 23 hour nap! I forget how much energy I don't have. But I will have plenty of time to rest while I'm here for the next month. Already though, just looking at the ocean and hearing the waves outside my window while I slept has helped. It was a little cold tonight but it sure beats the single digits in Chicago. I look forward to seeing the sunshine tomorrow and the feeling the sand under my feet.

Plus I turn 38 tomorrow. I plan on making it to 40..............and then another 40!
Four
years ago on my birthday I went out for the first time after I finished
chemo with my cousin Steve, my cousin Megan, Chris Coulon and a few
friends. After they toasted me, one of the people at the table who I
didn't know said, "We never thought you'd make it to 34". I said,
"Excuse me?" As he patted my arm, he gladly repeated himself. I asked
him how he knew me and when he said he didn't, I told him that I had
cancer. The poor guy lost all the color in his face and stammered on
about how he always uses that line on people on their birthday. He
apologized all night. I thought the whole thing was very funny, but I'm
sure he never used that line again.
Love,
Jen

Jen, Glad to read that you are in warm, sunny Florida...and Naples, no less! I think it's got to be a very good thing that you are safe, warm and feeling the positive energy of the sun. Enjoy and relax. I have to tell you that I read your update and had a chuckle as I read the the story of a past birthday...of 34. You can really tell a story like an Irish lass! Happy Birthday! Karey

Hey Babe,
Happy Birthday! I am so happy that you are in Florida enjoying your birthday with Grandma, Clementine, MB & Chubby. As you mentioned, the weather down there is surely better than weather up here in Chicago...although a part of me does wish you were here so that I could give you a big hug and a kiss on your birthday.
I cant tell you how proud I am of you and how much I love you. I missed you quite a bit while you were away in Texas and I cant wait to spend the summer together.
I love you with all my heart and I want you to know that you are a huge inspiration for all of us.
Happy Birthday and I wish you a happy & healthy 2009!
Love you,
B

Naples for the months sounds fantastic. Are your mom and MB with you??? I wasn't sure if you could be around precious Clementine just yet! I hope you had a great birthday and all is well. We hope to see you when you return. xoxo

Hi Jen.
It has been a long time since Katie and I met you at MDA and you have continued to be in our thoughts. We are thrilled to hear you, too, completed the transplant and are getting stronger everyday! Katie is back in New York (working, too!) and I am back in Chicago.
Much love and a somewhat belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
-Nancy M.
